Very much agree. It's amazing how much our play this season resembles the performances under Grant right down to the owners sitting on their hands despite knowing a change needed to be made but not quite doing so because of the money. Imagine they learned a lesson then but perhaps not enough of one if they go for another cheap option as rumor would have it.

If NZ played West Ham tomorrow, who would win?

If only billic had identified a defensive midfielder in close season.......
Oh.

Re: Winston REID
Exposed by a non exsistent midfield

Even the best of centre halves would struggle when teams are able to cut through us like a hot knife through butter

EAH,
Better players? No way are New Zealand players better than our lot. Granted they will probably have more heart though. And Peru will turn them over, IMHO of course

Re: Winston REID
very difficult holding a makeshift defence together when there is an absence of MF tracking

That is the area we all saw as a priority in the window, again, but was left, again

Sort the MF and the defence will look considerably stronger

Re: Winston REID
Reid has been poor but so have Noble, Cresswell, Ogbonna and Kouyate.

Reid was poor under Avran Grant as well and then Big Sam came in and he thrived.

I think Reid's form has more to do with a manager that can't organise a defence/midfield as much as anything else.

I reckon Winston will be looking forward to playing with some better players who have a bit of heart next weekend.

Re: Winston REID
Watch him just before the corner is taken he is asking /pointing
to others to push up on to the edge of the area.
That why he reacted like he did after the goal was score .

I didn't go the game saw on MOTD he overtook Fernades and turned around when the goal went in gave it to Fernandes big time. So at least he has some heart

It's probably the fact he's average that makes him shine in his present company......

Pagey - Do you watch a lot of top flight football? Reid is no more than an average PL CB? Ask yourself why a big club has never come in for him

Re: Winston REID
He ain't the quickest..but outpaced that cunt Fernandes.

This is what happens to decent players amongst chaos..

Re: Winston REID
Haha! I was typing too slow clearly!

Anyway, it looks like David Moyes is on his way in. Probably getting him 10 years too late. A far from thrilling appointment if true.

Re: Winston REID
Goal 1 - If he was jogging back, what the fuck were Noble and Fernandes doing?

Reid didn't have his best game today but who did? Lanzini is the only one who escapes criticism today for me.
